lets look at it this way if rutos running mate wont be from central i.e not embu or meru. he wont get any support from them. if he gets one from central then other communities will not agree on two community government. meru and embus have been used by their brothers for long and thats how they will argue

Kenneth has no network, not bothered and not serious and you expect from the blue he will be picked. Kiunjuri is the central points man now, he was picked as a neutral bridge between Kikuyu leaders in central and RV. Kenneth hasn’t even bothered with one MCA. DP Ruto likely runningmate will be Kindiki, Kiunjuri, Sonko or Sakaja. It will all depend on the Jubilee party Matrix after the results of 2017. At the end it’s DP Ruto choice after listening to guidance of party delegates and President Uhuru.

2022 is a slam dunk for ruto. shida itakuwa 2027. uhuru will be sliding into irrelevance in central kenya so it will all depend on how ruto treats mount kenya in his first term. if he messes up, he better have convinced voters from other regions to fill the gap.
kiunjuri hata uhuru akicampaign personally door to door in central kenya will not be able to be the central kenya point man. central kenya leaders only have loyalty to uhuru and once he is out of office, all bets are off. even if kiunjuri is dp, he’ll be just a figurehead.
all you need to do is look at central kenya point men over the last 25 years. it’s been matiba, kibaki and now uhuru. they are characterised by charisma, intelligence, performance and/or huge wealth. kiunjuri has none of that and is a non-starter though the kenyatta family might want a weak guy for their family interests. kiunjuri can be at best a kamotho.
the most popular person in central kenya once uhuru leaves will be either peter kenneth or mutahi kagwe and i’m sure both are just bidding their time. if i will be around here in 2025, nitakuja kuwaambia i told you so.
