Asking for a friend. What would you rather do? Pursue a master’s degree or pursue a professional course like CFA etc. Assuming you are qualified for both. Sande

Currently in CFA, so I am biased. But no regrets.

V difficult question. Depends on a lot of things. Masters in??? professional course in???. Personally I would go for a Master’s degree. Point to note. Is it recognised in many corners of the world?

I chose the former but would choose the latter today.

Let’s say a Masters in Statistics vs a CFA professional course.

Masters if you are already in the corporate world in a management role, or pursuing one. Professional Course if you are pursuing a technical position. Masters is for show. Certs your can use.

What about a guy who has worked on his business since since graduation??

Masters in Statistics wins hands down for me.

Masters Schmasters… fanya CFA hio ni global accreditation. Masters ni boring and time consuming. CFA is a challenge with great benefits if you ace it, that is…

Mkae mbali sana:DThis is a very serious thread usikuje hapa kurugania:D.

I disagree vehemently that Masters is for show. How so? then what would you say about a Permanent Head Damage?

well put… I learnt more in a professional course than I did in masters… Masters was just to get the certificate & make me marketable

To sell yourself to move up the corporate ladder. Works like a charm.

Then ‘for show’ is not the right term to describe all those sleepless nights, assignments, deadlines, group discussions, smelly libraries, tears, resits…name it. Besides if you are smart, you will know that you can sell yourself but if they hire you and you cannot deliver, you will be shown the door soon enough.

What benefit does it have @Muhura
