I have been building in the past two weeks. Every morning, tens of fundis and KYMs show up at the site.

The rule from the NCA is that all must have a helmet and luminous vest. Most come without, and some even have rubber sandals on. The kit costs 300 bob in the supermarket, which is just 1/3 of a fundi’s wages but a sure ticket for a job.

Too lazy to get basic equipment, they hop from site to site and then give up the search at 10 AM.
