“I Tertius, who wrote this letter, greet you in the Lord.” - Romans 16:22’…I have read over this verse many, many times. Romans is a dense book, so by the time I normally get to the end, I put my mind in neutral, not really expecting to be impacted by a seemingly mundane greeting. Once, after reading this short verse, however, I imagined what it would have been like to be an “amanuensis” (a sort of secretary) to Paul. I often have wondered what went through the mind of Tertius as he recorded what Paul spoke. Much like the popular song “Mary did you know?,” did Tertius know that what was being written by his pen, were the very words of God? Do we recognize and appreciate those times God is speaking to us? Wishing everyone an awesome day.
Thank you for the word…have a nice day
