To break your hope further here… let no one tell you that’s possible to go around this shit. Just wipe the damn thing clean and move on/pay the goon who might not even be the source hence he has no key. And from here going forward, DONT DOWNLOAD/CLICK ANYTHING YOU DON’T KNOW. Imagine for a moment you were in a corporate network. The damage would be unbelievable.

Read@Slartibartfast’s comment. If the data files and program files are encrypted, rolling back to a previous backup will not help. Only system settings are saved.

Option 2. Retire and jerk off the rest of the day.

Pole…hio ni RKO ya mwaka mzima…no solution for this. Format and start anew

books are mostly in PDF or epub or mobi formats, Magazines too. Kwanza Torrent sites magazines huwa Books section

Pole sana buddha, cut your losses format and reinstall. Most if not all ransomware hackers dont ever intend to give you a key. Reminds of my TB Passport Backup Drive I unitentionally killed, photos za famo, docs etc lost.

Need to seriously look into this ransomware biz, itakuwa venture hivi karibuni. Most PC users just click bila second thought, God forbid they perfect ransomware ya smartphone!

You can embed malicious codes into any format… the days for virus .exe are coming to an end.

That’s why in an earlier reply I have said people should try and use antivirus, at least it minimises like 60% of the risks, the other 40% you use common sense

Ditto vile mwingine amesema hapa. Just wipe clean and start again. Just make sure hakuna ujinga zingine zimebaki at BIOS level na iwe pia secure wipe coz a simple delete doesn’t really delete stuff (including ransomware) from the disk - can easily be reactivated. Alafu pia if i was you id have a separate machine for downloading stuff preferably on linux (I like Ubuntu & SuSe) or macOS kama una doh mob. I only use Ubuntu when searching for fap material…a windows machine wouldn’t last two seconds in that jungle - Most malicious code is written for Windows platforms.
