This Life...

As I posted like a week ago, I got diagnosed with Hypertension and have been working out and watching my diet to reduce my BMI… Now the pressure that I measure several times a day hovers between normal and pre-hypertensive.

Now, I have been researching and then it has hit me that I cannot just eat what I want at any time I feel like… Very strange that when I did not have cash, I could take anything any time I wanted and my pressure was Perfect (of course I was much younger and single while now I am married)… Then there were many things I used to admire but could not afford… Now I can afford anything I want to eat or drink any time but I am so restricted… This life… Aaarghhh!

If you can eat pusssy you’ll be good

Ecclesiastes 6:2
A man to whom God has given riches and wealth and honor, so that he lacks nothing for himself of all he desires; yet God does not give him power to eat of it, but a foreigner consumes it. This is vanity, and it is an evil affliction.

Hehehe… Even that is not permitted…

Kwani ulienda mbinguni?

You know I do eat it but that is not as easy as you think because of hypertension… Then not too much time coz of gym Amy work and time with family…

I hope you stick to your wife only

I do… I have no option now unless I want to kill myself with blood pressure

Risk factors
High blood pressure has many risk factors, including:
[ul]
[li]Age. The risk of high blood pressure increases as you age. Until about age 64, high blood pressure is more common in men. Women are more likely to develop high blood pressure after age 65.[/li][li]Race. High blood pressure is particularly common among people of African heritage, often developing at an earlier age than it does in whites. Serious complications, such as stroke, heart attack and kidney failure, also are more common in people of African heritage.[/li][li]Family history. High blood pressure tends to run in families.[/li][li]Being overweight or obese. The more you weigh, the more blood you need to supply oxygen and nutrients to your tissues. As the amount of blood flow through your blood vessels increases, so does the pressure on your artery walls.[/li][li]Not being physically active. People who are inactive tend to have higher heart rates. The higher your heart rate, the harder your heart must work with each contraction and the stronger the force on your arteries. Lack of physical activity also increases the risk of being overweight.[/li][li]Using tobacco. Not only does smoking or chewing tobacco immediately raise your blood pressure temporarily, but the chemicals in tobacco can damage the lining of your artery walls. This can cause your arteries to narrow and increase your risk of heart disease. Secondhand smoke also can increase your heart disease risk.[/li][li]Too much salt (sodium) in your diet. Too much sodium in your diet can cause your body to retain fluid, which increases blood pressure.[/li][li]Too little potassium in your diet. Potassium helps balance the amount of sodium in your cells. A proper balance of potassium is critical for good heart health. If you don’t get enough potassium in your diet, or you lose too much potassium due to dehydration or other health conditions, sodium can build up in your blood.[/li][li]Drinking too much alcohol. Over time, heavy drinking can damage your heart. Having more than one drink a day for women and more than two drinks a day for men may affect your blood pressure.[/li]If you drink alcohol, do so in moderation. For healthy adults, that means up to one drink a day for women and two drinks a day for men. One drink equals 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof liquor.
[li]Stress. High levels of stress can lead to a temporary increase in blood pressure. Stress-related habits such as eating more, using tobacco or drinking alcohol can lead to further increases in blood pressure.[/li][li]Certain chronic conditions. Certain chronic conditions also may increase your risk of high blood pressure, including kidney disease, diabetes and sleep apnea.[/li][/ul]

Except Alcohol, other chronic illnesses, tobacco, too much salt, too little potassium in diet… All the factors apply to me 100%

Piga tizi, kunywa maji mob, avoid red meat, avoid excessive fat and sugar, eat whole meal grains, drink red wine na utakuwa sawa

That’s how the almighty Jah Rastafari equalises everybody, the mighty and the weak, the rich and the poor.

Asante sana… I have just been given the contacts of a dietician by a doctor friend… I will work on all fronts… First the diet then exercises,

Cope .
I know very many rich people who are healthy as well as very many peasants who are suffering from chronic conditions .

First of all Just know that Hypertension is a silent Killer, you have to be on treatment dietary restrictions and modification is ok perse but ensure that you are on daily drugs and monthly Check up, next now that you have been diagnosed try to find appropriate information from a Practitioner and a nutritionist, the internet can be misleading
Try to accept the situation, HTN is a Chronic illness and has severe complications, if you want to live. Tafakari
