Why is everyone so determined to twist facts and gain an unfair advantage? That is greediness.
Even though on many social platforms emotions run higher than facts, it’s not in order when people in positions who should base their arguments on facts peddle fables.
It’s a fact before colonialism different tribes interacted with each other in different ways like trade, wars(this wars had some assumed rules and it’s possible it’s not as we imagine today). It’s this early interactions that provided the bedrock against which early visitors to Africa based their interaction with the continent.
So, the coastal bantus all the way from kismayu to Mozambique interacted with early Islamic crusaders and pockets of Muslim believers started forming but fused local languages and cultures with the crusaders.
The kambas linked the central parts of Kenya with the coastal. The pastoralists moved up and down interacting with the Cushites and pockets of coastal bantus. The developing commerce along the coast caused further interaction with the Buganda kingdom which reached naivasha opening the way for different forms of interaction upto eastern DRC.
When the British arrived in British Somaliland, people like Lord Delamare used isaak Somali porters to trace their way to Kenya as it was rumoured Kenya had better lands for agriculture . This porters relied on their knowledge of the land gained through interactions with other tribes to find their way, arriving at British railway station build on Masaai land in Nairobi.
Anyway, here is the gist of my post today:
That picture is a summary of the problem with kenya and Kenyans, and below is a detailed explanation:
The comments capture the thinking so well, like why do drivers and bodaboda behave as they behave here in Nairobi? Why are Kenyans with such bad behaviours? It’s simply because they ‘believe the effects or consequences will not happen’ ![]()
The following video explains the reason for such behaviours, apply that to Africa or Kenya specifically:
It’s simply because you don’t want disruptions, this safety. You are not ready to pay the price of the disruptions by changing your ways!!! You are the problem
