Cruising through youtube and clicking the song, I remembered the day I first heard this reggae version, which co-incidentally happened before I had heard the Celine Dion, and infinitely more than which I preferred, and which in turn had yet another as a precursor, it reminded of the matanga of a neighbor who had passed to be with the angels, and a very funny “bomb” against one of my homeboyz, who sadly passed some years back, was dropped.
They say idleness is the devil’s workshop, which I am inclined to to rebut as unqualified, for many of the young “homeboyz” in that area were very fastidious idlers, with vicious “bomuz” to match, in the ample spare time they had, to the effect that, in order to qualify the idleness allegation, an addendum was in order; and a key to the innovation of “merciless bomuz!”
So this guy had one of those kisogoz that literally looked like the anterior anvil of a shoe cobbler in both size and proportionality, and out of the bluez another buddy suddenly shouted out; [Ahh wewe Katax–whose head leaned back against the fence-- ebu kaa vizuri uache kukatakata fence za watu na hiyo “kondainer/container(kisogo)”, ni aje unaharibu ma fence za majirani bure?]…with the place being relatively quiet at the time, everyone heard, gitched, and an instant unison rumble of laughter followed that literally persisted for 5 minutes!! Hell, it even brought much needed a comic reprieve for the bereaved, and they laughed equally as hard!!!
Reminds me of teen days pale Hollywood club. The tune used to seamlessly merge with ‘want you back’. memories fossil
