Anyone who worships whites is either misinformed or foolish. If they ever took time to read through historical interactions between whites and blacks, they would definitely resent those idiots. For many Black people the past is riddled with trauma inflicted by European colonialism and slavery. Stories like that of Sarah Baartman, a Khoikhoi woman taken from South Africa in the 19th century and exhibited in Europe as a spectacle because of her body, are not just historical footnotes—they are wounds that still ache.
Baartman was paraded in freak shows, ogled, and objectified. After her death, her remains were displayed in museums until they were finally returned to South Africa in 2002. Her story is emblematic of how Black bodies were commodified and stripped of dignity.
Another haunting example is Anarcha, one of several enslaved Black women subjected to repeated surgeries without anesthesia by Dr. J. Marion Sims, often called the “father of modern gynecology.” These women endured unimaginable pain, their consent irrelevant, their humanity ignored.
Given such a brutal legacy, it’s understandable to question the sincerity of modern-day friendliness from white individuals or institutions.
