We have been hearing I don’t know Kenyan economy grew by i don’t know 5% in three consecutive years… I don’t know… But have u asked yourself
Why 50yrs after independence we still have many people living in slums and worse than that the slums are still expanding. And most of the houses in slums are mud houses. If economy was developing why have not these people gotten better houses after all those years.
How many people have been lifted out of poverty in Kenya over the years? Why does it seems like the poverty is still constant in Kenya.?
Why are there no major industries or formal jobs created in Kenya. Why is that we still have people using mkokoteni wheelbarrows in this age? and this is what is considered development
Why is it still in this day age of better and advanced public transport we are still using the unruly 14 seater Matatus in a capital city what does it serve?
In conclusion I can say there is no meaningful development in Kenya… Its more of a PR hardware that does not touch the normal citizens… It does not create jobs for them and lift them out of poverty
Because you slum people keep having sex and giving birth like pigs. In addtion, you will notice a trend called ‘early marriages/teenage pregnancy’.
About job creation, the blame is for all.
You give birth, take your child to school. But when you get good money to invest, unapelekea gakuyo and other culprit(you buy useless land)/build always vacant malls/apartment/etc Ngui ici
I would refer you to economics 101,your ignorance is worrying and pathetic.
- Govt wants to out-compete the private sector (conflicts of interest is the order of the day so KRA hounds are used to kill competition). Monopolies are created but aren’t managed properly so the responsibility falls to the tax payers to bail out these institutions.
- Same govt prefers a consumer economy that depends on imports(cartels are kept well fed). This coupled with high electrical costs(kplc=govt entity) plus dealing with tens of govt agencies for licenses/ approvals chases any manufactures away.
- Taxes are too high with little to justify it.
- Bloated Govt that eats around 60% of the national budget in wages which is unsustainable.
- Lack of implementing zoning laws that allow for the growth of a town or city without slums.
- Majority bonobo population falling for false promises and handouts to vote in the next set of crooks who have no policies to answer the above issues.
I think Kenya needs an economic audit, I believe there is a structural problem with our economy. I am not an economist myself but I certainly believe there are some structural issues in our economy that’s is limiting the development of industries and the modernization of agriculture. Our agriculture is still done using simple means o production. There is certainly something wrong in our economic policies and plans.
Some people just narrow it down to corruption. I don’t believe so. I don’t deny that corruption is a menace in Kenya, but look other countries also face the challenges of corruption like even China, and even first world countries though on a minimal scale than Kenya but this has not stopped them from industrializing and achieving better productivity. We need an audit of our major economic policies and maybe a total overhaul of them…
Your title suggested that you were going to tell us why Kenya is not developing, but what you have given us is a pathetic whine with no solutions.
Incompetent leaders.
Greed
As long as we keep killing our local companies like Keroche in favor of foreign companies like Diageo, we will get nowhere. Our leaders, after stealing our taxes, stash the money abroad, they can’t even think of investing in Kenya. Those who steal and invest in Kenya do not have the brains to invest in manufacturing. They can only think of hotels like Arap Mashiamba. Our leaders think that if you want to get rich go into politics. Politics is one of the best payers in Kenya, unfortunately the miscreants who get into politics in Kenya cannot think of formulating policies to attract investments, the retarded cunts just attend meetings to forward stories of who is “eating” who. We have major problems.
a huge chunk of the revenues goes to tumbocrats and the little money meant for development is squandered in suspicious tenders …corruption is what im saying
Suppose you engage in corruption and set up industries…
That will bring in much needed foreign currency?
Now suppose all the 47 Governors did the above with their ill-gotten loot?
And created employment for thousands of citizens…
What would your take on the vice be?
that would be better but the loot isnt in circulation because they hide them in offshore banks

Develop for what? They can’t develop because they want the people broke and dependent on them. They want us desperate ndio wakitupea mia mbili tunauana kama maumbwa. They want us angry and triggered.
The leaders are idiots and they know they can’t rule financially independent citizens coz they have nothing to offer. Check political functions and listen to words the leaders spew. Nothing meaningful. They know the moment we shift attention from politics their careers are gone to shit.
Angalia developed countries like Germany and UK. Nobody cares or even pays much attention to politics. Reason, wamekula wakashiba and their lives are okay. Kuna time in Germany hakukuwa ata na opposition ya maana. The opposition leader there wasn’t even serious.
Leave this to the economists banae, unajiaibisha ile mbaya!
Population increase means an increase in the number of people who pay taxes and the government can have enough money to build resources for the new children.
The malls and apartments are built by people who have stolen money not the ordinary Kenyans
Kenya is for the few rich people not for the poor.
Unlike China our government is full of incompetent people. Someone is in the ministry because he is a friend of a politician and he cannot implement anything meaningful becuase he does not know anything. The experts are told to tow the line or go work in another country
There is no place in the world where people invest pesa ya wizi. Most of it will go to alcohol women expensive cars and shopping
