If these maps had been made in africa, the rest of the world would probably have been ignored due cultural abscence of intellectual interest(note I have not talked about IQ). The rest maybe would have been labelled “endless sea”. Majority of Africans are not curious about anything.

I think KIE and other African equivalents should decree use of the accurate maps. If we do it enough others may/will follow suit.

@Ike Dubaku , let me explain to you something that you overlooked, how the map appears on paper all depends on the flattening, semi major and semi minor axis used, thats why regardless of whichever projection and datum you use, acreage and distances remain the same, e.g the topo maps in kenya are all based on ARC 1960 and the standard projection and datum for modern day GPS is geographicals WGS84 yet we can still re-project and overlay the different maps, and also the reason why when using UTM meters the eastings start and end at different values for every zone even along the equator not to mention in the tropics

As a budding Aviator how comes Azimuth, longitudes and nautical miles are no where in your arguments. You fags need to be stepping out of the keyboard a little.

A sextant. Used to measure celestial objects against the horizon in order to determine latitude. There’s also a way it can be used to determine longitude. I’ve forgotten the method

Why would I include a sextant in a simple argument about datums and projections, we are not discussing about the establishment of the big arc.
