The Temptation of Eve

Why did Satan tempt Eve with the Apple and not Adam..???

First , a common mistake:
Tthe Bible actually does not say it was an apple.
It merely says it is a ‘fruit.’

In fact , it is highly likely it was not an apple , as there probably were actual apple trees in the garden of Eden.

Yet, both Adam and his wife could clearly tell the tree of knowledge of good and evil apart… so it and the fruit probably had some very distinct appearance.

Okay, she probably wasn’t blond either…
But I like these fruits better.

Further , ‘Eve’ at that time was just called ‘the woman.’
She only got her name in Genesis 3:20 , after the fall.

Anyway…
The serpent went after the woman because she was the weaker vessel , much more prone to being tricked or enticed.
There is also no record of God instructing the woman directly; only Adam.
It was Adam’s job to protect and instruct the woman in turn.

From her response in 3:3 vs 2:17 where GOD instructs Adam regarding the tree, you see one issue:
The woman thought that she couldn’t even touch the thing.
GOD actually never said that.
He only said that they couldn’t eat from it.

Very likely, once enticed, the woman touched it… realized she was still alive, and then figured why not go all the way…???

How did she think that merely touching the tree would result in death..???
We don’t know exactly, but it was clearly not a mistake in GOD’s instruction.
This means she either made it up herself, or Adam added a bit more to it… which was a mistake.
Either way, Adam himself definitely knew exactly what God said.

What is more shocking is that Adam was right there when the serpent was deceiving the woman. He probably wanted to eat the damn thing too.

What nonsense is this? According to KJV, the best edition,

Genesis 2

  1. And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

  2. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

  3. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

  4. And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Actually, you’re right. It doesn’t actually show God telling the woman not to eat the fruit. That really explains the discovery of epidurals.. and disproves the logic that childbirth pain was a permanent curse.

That didn’t help. The long and short of it is that Eve had to meet the snake and eat the fruit–or they would learn nothing. It would be a boring existence, nothing would have changed, they would probably still be there today, forever young, playing and splashing about in the river like kids (they had never known adults), eating fruit, making faces, pulling the lion’s ears, laughing and chasing each other, falling and rolling in the grass, tickling each other, watching sunsets…Existence without purpose😆
BTW, why was the wicked snake in the garden? Si God had already looked at everything and seen that it was good? And why was the tree in the centre of the garden, instead of being on a remote island which neither Eve nor Adam could reach?

Methinks He planned it all, part of an elaborate drama which is still playing out right now. So just know that anything which must go wrong will go wrong, and the way to deal with temptation is to yield to it. You can’t win.

According to my thinking Adam was instructed to eat all other trees (breasts , mkia ) but not to touch the tree at the centre of the garden
