The Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, Hon. Mussa Azzan Zungu, met and held discussions with senior officials from the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
During the meeting, the Speaker assured them that Tanzania offers a safe and conducive environment as the country prepares to host the organization’s General Assembly.
Tanzania will host the 153rd IPU General Assembly in October 2026 at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC), an event expected to bring together more than 1,500 delegates from various member countries.
“Tanzania is ready for the meeting, and preparations are progressing well,” Zungu said.
On their part, the head of the IPU delegation, Ambassador Anda Filip, expressed satisfaction with the environment and infrastructure they inspected in preparation for the event.
“We visited the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) and found the environment and preparations suitable for hosting the meeting,” Ambassador Filip said.
