The high court has stopped all criminal proceedings against deputy cj Philomena Mwilu.
I knew we wouldn’t be going very far. Wait for all the others to be stopped, and compensation ordered.
Can we now expect a no holds barred war between the executive and the judiciary?
Temporarily.
what did the govt expect they did not follow orders, hata kimaiyo was ordered to arrest Iringo mutea lakini didn’t arrest him, now is time for the court to show they also have powers
In short, dick measuring contest
Jana wakati tribal headman @FieldMarshal CouchP aalikuja hapa na theories nlidhani ni very major attrocities more so related to the presidential re-run. Yule admean mwingine was wetting inside stating that sijui her looks betray her intentions. Kumbe ni makosa kidogo kama tax evasion na sijui misuse of office. Hio kesi haiendi popote!
Kalonzo Musyoka says the fight against corruption should not be used as an excuse to abuse the rights of any citizen, including state officers
This does not look good on Raila at all and his purported fight against corruption. Inaonesha ako na favourites.
Inaonesha pia politician ndio shida Kenya hii. That that judiciary answers to politicians.
The tribalism that has been on display today, hadi Kalonzo ati juu ni kabila yake. The voter has seen.
Sasa hata kuendea the likes of Waiguru msiongee tena, watu wa Nasa you have lost all moral authority today. Your leaders are as corrupt as Waiguru.
Not really. Like @MrEsquire has rightly put it above, the High Court has given temporary orders. The matter filed in the High Court will be heard and determined first. The court will then make a ruling on whether the prosecution of Mwilu should continue or not. I am not privy to the details of what she has been charged with, but I think the outcome of this case will be appealed to the apex Court.
Gloves are now off…This is good.
abuse of office actually is a serious crime enywhere in the world. She knows the crimes are serious, that is why she is fighting to stop prosecution. Why not prove her innocence instead?
How many of the anticipatory bail and stop of prosecution cases granted by the same judge have been heard and determined? These are ploys used to impede and defeat the course of justice. If indeed the below were “witch hunt” cases, it should be very easy to defeat the cases, right?
She may not be found guilty, lakini kazi itaenda, kumbuka tulifuta mmoja kazi coz. alichuna Watchman mapua
Are you implying that a supreme cort judge should never be taken to court for minor offences. Kichwa si ya kubeba meno.
legally speaking, stopping prosecution is a sure way of proving your innocence.
How? she is not fighting the charges, instead, she is saying it will embarass her
Wacha kuleta muharo there’s a very big difference between suspend and stop.
there is a reason she is being tried, these charges are just to tell her to leave without alot of hullabaloo, na kama ni tax evasion that is a flimsy charge of which any govt officer is guilty of
I think you are confusing issues here.Mwilu is seeking orders to bar her prosecution. She was already arrested and released on bond. These other cases are about barring arrest pending possible prosecution. Are we together?
