The old days are gone (official thread)

gone are the days when a group of workers would go on strike ,paralyze the whole country, force the government to sign their demands (which will never be implemented) wait until the election year to go for another strike and the cycle continued. We are now in time that the government signs what we can afford, reasonable and implementable. Gone are the days when we would have a strike almost every year, such strikes would last for not more than two weeks, the striking workers would still receive their salaries and allowances for the time they were not working.

Welcome to The Jubilee government, where teachers went on strike and swore never to return back to class until their demands were met 100%..and now doctors are softening their previously sworn stand, and requesting the government to show a plan on how they expect to increase their salaries.

Strike on you own peril

hehehehehe…unakuanga na wana sana

The pay from the government is peanuts to them, you are forgetting they make huge amounts from their private clinics and all the rights they have in private hospitals, that’s why they only spend 1% of their time in government hospitals and the rest making rounds in other hospitals.

Those striking Drs are junior Drs who still need they govt paycheck. Private clinics take time to thrive. Competion is very stiff from clinical officers , pharmacists and nurses.

I support the doctors strike. Problem here is that everyone forgets that the doctors employers are governors (counties) not national government. All their terms have to be agreed by governors and co-signed by national government. I agree that governors must have a nationwide same criteria of promotions. County officials should only handle administrative functions at the hospitals while all clinical decisions remain with the Doctors. Counties should not delay or deduct any doctors funds after Treasury remits them to counties accounts. The CBA that was agreed but not enforced needs to be relooked and finally deposited in court to be enforceable. The salaries and allowances increase should be increased cumulatively each year until the CBA is complete. To be fair doctors can’t claim salaries for a month that they didn’t work.

What can you say on wastage and financial scandals in current government, it can afford to pay teachers, doctors and all other government employees better …it should stop frustrating tax prayers
