Morocco also built the Noor-Ouarzazate complex, the world’s largest concentrated solar power plant, an enormous array of curved mirrors spread over 3,000 hectares (11.6 sq miles) which concentrate the Sun’s rays towards tubes of fluid, with the hot liquid then used to produce power.
Hii kitu ilimalizwa 2019, how is it new? There have been two other bigger ones built in malindi and eldoret since then. Halafu these are private ipps. Kplc buys from them making power expensive and shafting us a good one in the process.
Both technologies successfully convert Solar energy to electricty.
The difference is that one is a bit straight forward i.e. light is directly converted into electricty by a solar panel.
The other one is more complicated i.e. light must be concentrated so that it heats up something that in turn heats up water into steam that inturn turns a turbine that eventually generates electricty.
Ata Galana Kulalu looked very impressive during launching.

It turns out putting up the structures and running the project successfully are two very different things.
