The "Lost Gospels" and censorship in the Bible

I find it bizarre that people believe the bible to be written by God yet it’s clear that some books of the Bible were censored.

Who got to decide that the “apocryphal” books such as Tobit, Maccabees, Judith, Baruch, Esdras, Sirach, Bel and the Dragon should be deliberately excluded from the Protestant bibles? Should we trust someone to choose for us what to read and what not to?

What about the gospel of Judas, James, Peter, Philip, Mary Magdalene, Barabbas and Barnabas e.t.c.

The Book of Enoch is alo excluded. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKre86s7f9XRFtE33vnxf00CCim8wyFMl

Atheists discussing the missing books in the Bible…

Why don’t you add those books in your own Bible?? Welcome

There’s nothing bizarre about that. I enjoy reading the Bible as literature, but I don’t take it literally.

Where one’s strength of argument is weak, glibness offers an easy escape.

Your thread says otherwise

From a literal perspective, the Bible has some of the best written sentences in literature. It has influenced many novels in style. But believing its contents as fact is a bit of a stretch.

Those books were not inspired by the Holy spirit. They were written by heretics

The Book of Barnabas if included in the Bible will be the end of Christianity as we know it, the said book denies the diefication of Christ. The diefication of Christ is both the pillar and cornerstone of the Christian religion.

Question answered well.

That book was written by Muslims pushing their own agenda and view of Christianity.

Yes, I’d advise any Christian searching for the truth to get a copy of this book, it’s very enlightening. The Gospel of Barnabas denies Jesus’ deity, rejects the Trinity and denies Jesus’ crucifixion.

How? The Gospel of Barnabas manuscript is 1500 old, there were no Muslims at the time, Islam came 100 years later. The manuscript was written in Syriac, a dialect of Aramaic, which was the native language of Jesus.

Which year was it discovered and who discovered it

It was discovered 1500 years ago. The Council of Niacaea, hand-picked the gospels that form the Bible as we know it today; omitting the Gospel of Barnabas, among many others. So the discovery of this book is hardly surprising.

At the council of Nicaea that book wasn’t known. That book is a forgery written by Islamic scholars.

Ok, which books did the 318 bishops leave out of the Bible and which books were known at the time of the Council sitting in 325 A.D? Also where’s evidence pointing to forgery by Islamic scholars? It’s hard fighting the truth you know?

Evidence has it the style in the manuscripts points to an islamic scholar(s), and reason why it was never added to the bible; it was corrupted…

A fake book discovered in the 1600s ndio unaongelea about 325 AD. Then the forgerers pretended that they had found it in Italy and someone had stole an original copy from the Papal Library. Uongo mtupu.
