Now over 200 palestinians are going to die needlessly, infrastructure destroyed, people maimed forever and livelihoods lost. All because they cannot call out on Hamas who are putting them in the line of fire.
Hamas knows they can never fight Israel and win. They know the odds are greatly stacked against them, they know how Israel will always react to their inferior rockets. So why do they go ahead and put their people in harms way by their actions. And its not a question of who is right or wrong. Just common sense.
If you are a skinny weak guy with a muscular gym guy bully neighbour who always plays loud music late into the night, what do yo do? Do you always go fight him and end up in hospital with a dislocated jaw, or do you pursue other avenues. Remember though he is wrong he is stronger than you. You therefore seek help from a higher power who can subdue your enemy, or you try diplomacy through sending your neighbour’s friends, or swallow your pride and beg him direstly to consider your request to turn down the volume. You do not put yourself into more harm to solve an earlier harm.

Even if we were to take your version as 100% true, why retaliate in a fashion that always leaves your people worse off. Why contribute to the death and misery of your own people.
