Every time you hear the Word of God and say “Amen” you are saying “I do” to your Husband, the Lord Jesus Christ. By the way, heaven (that is, not the 8th day, but before) will be the wedding feast taking place but the marriage ceremony (the vows) is actually happening here and now. God wants to His Church to be so intimate with Him until She can reproduce His life. Every Christian life comes into perfection once it reproduces Christ again on this earth in demonstration of His power and glory. Without that, all you have is religion. After the body of Christ, the elect, get into perfection mode, only then will the rapture take place and we go for the reception in the clouds.
In Western culture, the sequence of events is unusual because first you have the marriage ceremony >> then wedding reception >> followed by consummation.
In Jewish culture, the couple said their vows, then went to consummate the marriage, and the outcome of that is what determined whether there would be feasting or a funeral. If the woman was not found in her virgin state “without spot or wrinkle” then she was dragged out of the room and stoned to death according to Deuteronomy 22:21. But if she was found worthy, then there was held a wedding feast lasting 7 days. (Genesis 29:27). Likewise, the wedding ceremony in heaven will last 7 years at the same time when the world will be experiencing the tribulation.
