Late last week, the White House issued a proclamation about the impact of auto imports on section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, saying they pose a serious national security threat. The document suggested changes to automotive import ruless as a way to diminish the threat.

Toyota, one of the biggest importers of such goods, and a company that is used to kicking back when disturbed, retorted with an angry message, defending both its business and its impact on Americans in the decades since it entered the country.

Calling the Proclamation a major setback for American consumers, Toyota says the document released by the White House is a message that its investments are not welcome in the country, and that the contributions made by its 475,000 employees are not valued.

A limitation of imports, says the carmaker, would have the opposite effect of what is desired, and will not create more jobs or stimulate the economy.

“These artificial limitations would reduce consumer choice and impact all automakers since vehicle parts used in U.S. manufacturing are sourced from around the globe,” t
he carmaker stressed in a statement.

“If import quotas are imposed, the biggest losers will be consumers who will pay more and have fewer vehicle choices.”

Still fighting at the top of the sales charts each year with much larger auto group Volkswagen, Toyota relies heavily on the sales it makes in the United States. The company had a market share of over 12 percent last year, and the over 2 million cars sold in 2018 in the U.S. accounted for roughly a quarter of its global sales.

Losing even a fraction of those sales would be a hurdle nearly impossible to overcome.

The carmaker is now in a waiting pattern, trying to see what Donald Trump decides is the best course of action. In ending its statement, the carmaker said it hopes upcoming negotiations would be swift and “yield what is best for the American consumer, workers and the auto industry.”

For decades, America has refused to modernise it’s automobile industry. Trump wants to build trade walls now out of jealousy and desperation, but it will not make US guzzlers more attractive.

Hehehehe, wacha aendelee…

USA thinks its stumbling China from overtaking it as world economic power by 2025. Well problem is with corporate american having its main plants and factories in China instead of the USA, then you are just also hurting yourself. Then China has been expecting this for a while. So no more joint cooperations. For example android had locked down OS for the foreseeable future. Now their main market has been forced by themselves to move away and use their own. Huawei had been developing its own domestic OS since 2012. It was ready after undergoing testing. Now its launch has been pushed forward to now. In a few years it will be one to retire android.

“Hongmeng” is Huawei’s first ever self developed operating system - Lu Han

Back in March, Huawei CEO Richard Yu told that the company has developed its own operating system in case of any circumstances that it can face from the US. Well, now we’ve found the name for that operating system.

There will be no new EMUI updates for any Huawei devices after Google ends software support

According to our source from China who told Huawei Central, Huawei has developed its own operating system under the name “Hongmeng”, that was in active development since 2012.

The source has also told that the company was using this operating system in its mobile phones potentially hidden behind the curtain.

Meanwhile, Trump is focusing on Taking America to the moon again by 2021. What will taking man to the moon again help their country with? Back in the 70’s it was a dick measuring contest but in current times it’s a complete waste of resources.

I think Trump is doing the right thing, if your kid was a best performer and suddenly they become lax and the performance drops, as a parent you have to jolt them back to reality.

Even if one is a billionaire, it’s good to let your kids learn some economics and some commerce, and some maths just so that they manage to continue the family business.

In a race where the rules are fair you should not hold back or stumble your fellow competitors so that you can reach the finish line first. America is in the lead. But the others are not sleeping.

If you can launch a rocket to outer space, you can send a ballistic missile to a target an equivalent distance away, the space race was the USA and USSR sending subtle messages to each other as pertaining to the range of their ballistic missiles…

Its about using your own advantages in a race, I mean if the american market is not that important I am sure the others would have no issue being blacklisted, imagine kenya blacklisting huawei or toyota - they would not even notice that, but you have a scenario where you are rich and your kids have slacked off, you have to bring them back to reality in one way or the other, and at times sending the househelp away for sometime is helpful so that the kids learn that not everything has to be done for them, let them learn some basic skills - because you will not always be there for them.

These days everyone including North Korea can launch Rockets to any part of the world. India took a spacecraft to Mars for a fraction of the cost Nasa used.

This year America is investing 400 million usd in artificial intelligence. The province of Shangai is investing 15 billion usd in 5 years. While china is investing in research that helps move it foward US is investing in taking man to the moon then when China is ahead they start their usual false spying accusations.
