When the supreme court passed the verdict that Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta had won the elections, it was accepted as the highest court and he was subsequently sworn in as President, regardless of the fact that more than 6 million Kenyans did not want him to be president, as in voted for the opposition. Rule of law had to prevail lest skirmishes erupted again like in 2008.
When the same court passed judgement that the Government should pay teachers, the Executive wants Kenyans to believe that that decision can be protested against and contested, and ultimately not followed due to âreasonsâ being given.
Mind you the government was well represented in the court process through the Attorney Generals office and indeed did notify the Supreme court of the lack of funds. That the judges therein sat and rationalized that the Executive was at fault and ought to pay, regardless of the scarcity, is by no means a faux-pas.
As of today, the 14th of September the Executive is still in contempt of the court orders, the very court that lends them their legitimacy as âexecutive governmentâ. That is setting a very dangerous precedent for the next election. The opposition is watching.
My advice is to source these funds and pay-up, just like the Anglo leasing scandal beneficiaries were paid, regardless of the governments unwillingness
Uhuru is not the enemy- heâs just the guy who was either crazy enough or bold enough to state the truth. Teachers have a legitimate case, but their demands are unattainable and unaffordable for now and no amount of trolling or name calling can change that.
Its true everyone needs a pay rise, teachers, jua kali, policemen, sex workers and the rest, but this might not be the right time. Hakuna haja ya kukopa ndio tulipe walimu. Kenya is drowning in debts na hiyo debt lazima italipwa either by us ama watoto wetu.
The government is not in any way contesting the rule by the supreme court of Kenya, there just isnât enough cash to implement the ruling.
Teachers have to wait âPesa zipatikaneâ
The government is not willing to fight corruption. Itâs just spending money careless. Collecting garbage in the estates is just duplicating work for county government. The over 20billion allocated to NYS will just disappear just before our eyes! Teachers request is 1.4Billion per month less tax=900M teachers must be paid their due period!
Ass-hole my point is it was expected of citizens to respect the court then and they did. Now it is the governmentâs turn to do the same. If you can not comprehend a simple message it is implied that numerous teacher strikes affected your learning. otherwise you come out as a retarded fellow. Also, note that I have no time to talk about the presidentâs legitimacy to power, the courts decided that long time ago. Even the files have gathered dust you dimwit!
Boss you need to understand what @MgangAlchemist is saying first before you start yappingâŚHow did this one even make it to senior villager @Deorro ama siku hizi @admin anapeana scholarships?
Boss ladyâŚsuppose the MPs want to increase their salaries today (they have done this in the past btwâŚsuccessfully) with all factors remaining constant do you think they wont arm twist the government to do it? Teachers on the other hand are demanding what is rightfully theirs
That is exactly my sentiment. Also, people need to know that this is the truest form of âpesa mashinaniâ. A teacher will spend and boost the local economy while some MPs will be using their big salaries in one or two places of this huge nation, all the while running their mouths about some mythical âpesa mashinaniâ.
Ukora in the govt will be their undoing. You cannot claim hakuna pesa lakini other sections of govt are knee deep in frivolous allowances and expenditures. Lakini how come education is not devolved?
