Nairobi City County should have been scrapped and placed under national govt. The general appointed now is working but after 2022 I won’t be surprised if Nairobians re-elect Sonko and all kind of chaos and disorderliness shall be back. The learned/corporate people never vote in Nairobi. They leave it to guys from the slum areas who are easily influenced by tokenism.
If Nairobi City county remains the way it is 2022 we might have Sonko again or another Sonko and they will reverse the gains so far made in the city.
We need courageous leaders to scrap off Nairobi City County and revert it to National govt administration. In fact Nairobi should not have MCAs at all. Let it be managed like Washington DC or Abuja Nigeria.
Corporate gurus or guys are the biggest let down in this country. They never take their stands on political issues and thus leave the country to be ransacked by selfish politicians. If we had the likes of major corporate CEOs, Business leaders making their stands known and trying to pressure govt we will have a different country

This is where we failed and we need to borrow from China. China has a short term 5 years plan. Currently they are in the 14th 5yrs plan. They have medium term plan of 10 years and finally a long term plan of 25 years. Every year CCP hosts conference that is a long series of party meetings to vet, share and discuss what they achieved in their 3 plans. Short-medium and long term plans within that financial year. From villages, city, province to national level. All the leaders there showcase their success. Its the only route to advancement in CCP. The current President Xi started from village to national leader. Let me put it on how it can work here.
Every ward, constituency, county and national government calls for inclusive forum meetings to work on their own short-medium and long term masterplan. The forums look at their budget, needs, development needed, reforms and progressive ideas. They are then articulated into a master plan. They are then adapted into their respective offices. Its only after that do we get leaders elected in those seats. Once in office they already have a master plan to implement, its not left to their individual wishes and skewed favouritism. They are also judged on how they implement those plans.
In Kenya we have politicians deciding all this for us and how it will be implemented. They have personalized those offices. Even now governors are getting their way to have terns removed because they can’t imagine themselves out of these comfy offices. Even those praising Badi be very cautious, his success is because of 100% support of State House for a reason. There is Jo tendering in that office really. Its decided by a few on all works. If President Uhuru focus shifts away from nms for a long period it will be just another forgotten parastatal. Let’s equip those offices with plans, reform them to fulfill their duty and allow depersonalization of public posts. Once we do that even the future sonkos will have no room to ruin people aspirations when they get into power.
Generalizing the filth in Nairobi coz of Mr. Sonko beats logic. A competent individual would do what’s needed and if the Head of State had the best intentions he would have had Mr. Sonko resigned/impeached especially since his party took that seat. Kama the notion is that the best fit is a military person-Mr. Badi ndio anaeza, basi he should head Nairobi as governor, not through NMS wareva.
If the best person to lead the Nairobi county is a soldier, then maybe we also need a soldier leading in State house

You can place the City any where you want, but it boils down to the person who is running the office. If he does not have the willpower to improve the city, there’s really nothing that will change.
At least Kidero did not bastardize the city. He had some class. DCI cannot find a single coin that he was alleged to have “eaten”. Kidero grass is still green on our streets
