The Fallacy of "Imported Maendeleo"

It is amusing to hear Juveniles in here waxing on how China and other assorted exploiters have brought “Maendeleo” to this Nation.

I wish to start by disabusing you of that often spoken claim.

The stark reality is that no one , except probably close family members , will ever give you anything "for free" …

Exploiters like China are driven by vested economic and political interests in Kenya and Africa in general and the ultimate goal is to secure markets for their substandard goods and control of the supply of cheap raw materials.

Beyond that , they really do not give a shit about you.

Kenya runs the risk of losing control of the Port of Mombasa if it should default on loans from state financial institution China Exim Bank , according to a new report from Kenya’s Auditor General.

The terms of a USD: 2.3 billion loan for Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) specify that the Mombasa Port’s assets are collateral, and they are not protected by Kenya’s sovereign immunity due to a waiver in the contract.

KRC accepted the multi-billion-dollar loan in order to build the Mombasa-Nairobi standard gauge railway (SGR), with construction services provided by China Roads and Bridges Corporation (CRBC), a division of state-owned conglomerate China Communications Construction Company (CCCC).

The payment arrangement agreement substantively means that the Authority’s revenue would be used to pay the Government of Kenya’s debt to China Exim bank if the minimum volumes required for [rail] consignment are not met…,” Auditor F.T. Kimani states.
The China Exim bank would become a principle over KPA if KRC defaults in its obligations…”

In addition, any dispute with China Exim Bank would be handled through an arbitration process in China , not in Kenyan courts.

The Auditor General expressed concern that the Port Authority had not disclosed these arrangements in its financial statements.

In a social media post, the Auditor General’s office emphasized that it had not released the report, which was leaked to the public via unofficial channels.
(…obviously someone playing it safe…)

In an interview with Kenyan media , KPA managing director Daniel Manduku expressed confidence that the contract clauses would not cause difficulties.
“…There is no risk of losing the port. In fact, we will pay this loan ahead of time,” he said.

The SGR, also known as the Madaraka Express, is a diesel-powered passenger and freight rail service connecting Nairobi and Mombasa.
Its construction was plagued by cost overruns, and outside observers have questioned its economic viability.
80 percent of the project was financed by China.

Last month, Kenya’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested seven China Roads and Bridges Corporation executives on allegations of bribery.
The company officials - four Kenyans and three Chinese nationals - allegedly tried to influence investigators who are conducting a corruption probe of the SGR rail project. Separately, two Kenyan officials were charged in August for allegedly corrupt acts in connection with the land acquisition for the rail line
.

Kenyan concerns about the transfer of a strategic seaport to China have precedent elsewhere.

In December 2017, Sri Lanka handed control of the newly-built port of Hambantota to a Chinese operator in order to satisfy part of its significant debt to Chinese lenders.

So , be accordingly advised:rage::hotsprings:

Answer my question, stop creating a parallel post.

We know the West and China are here for resources. But who has offered more Maendeleo as they Loot the resources? WEST or CHINA?

Why do you give a fuck? The very moment I realized who indeed controlls almost everything,I saved my emotions for my family and more so my children until 18.There is no one who runs for any public office to serve your interest.None whatsoever.Everything is just a scam. The food and pharma industries will control what goes into your mouth and there is nothing you can do about it.You have no control over your electronics or cars.Just accept, focus on you and leave that which doesn’t concern you to the owners

Enda Ikwiti ama KayCeeMbee wakuepee loan ya 1billion bila collateral. Once mighty man Raphael Tuju will be auctioned for debt.

To play devil’s advocate, China has done for Africa what any Muzungu wouldn’t have done in a hundred years. Tazara Railway among others are some good projects. With China interests here, before Muzungu burns down the Negro and Arab’s land, China watalilia interests zao. Whether this is a good or bad thing depends on the side of the table you are on.

Problem with bonobos is wanting something for nothing forgeting hata Communists are not here to save the world’s peasants. Usisahau kuchagua walevi na haslas.

Outstanding

Now that You seem to understand that both are here to exploit you and your valuable resources

Explain in 300 words or less how that , to any reasonable mind , how the activities of a Looter would translate to “Maendeleo” in any language…???

And the short answer to your monumental question is :-

NEITHER …!!:blush::fire:

Some Historical reality and education for you to consider

"Third World Slave Labor" and Resources built whole American , European , Middle East (… and to some extent …) Asian Nations Economies for FREE …!!!

The very least that they all owe us is REPARATIONS or just the FREE Labour and Genocide that they inflicted upon us …!!:rage::hotsprings:

Maendeleo is a subjective word like happiness.

Maendeleo in the modern world is big projects and electronics. Things China are good at. Hata American protectionists understand this.

For me big projects offer a pyschological reassurance that we are ‘progressing’ and the money wasn’t completely looted like Kimwarer.

Second your juvenile mind seems to ignore how capitalism works and in the process exploitation. Either you have large labor force(like China), minerals(global south) and technological knowhow(G20 or G50) countries.

If you can’t leverage labor, minerals and technology wwe ni slave of someone who can. That being true China is excellent at all. Exploiting their own slave labor in the millions, minerals from Global South and Technology stolen from the west.

So maendeleo tunayo in infrastructure lakini doing it for ourselves hiyo hatuna. But it’s encouraging to see Kenyans making stuff.

It appears that You were not very attentive in school during History Lesson’s

After WW2 in 1945 , the Japanese were a Nuked , Devastated , Destroyed , Demoralized , Poverty Stricken and pitiful Nation of 71 million that imported 85% of all the raw materials and technology that it required.

Between then and 1965 ( …20 years …) , visionary , nationalist , accountable leadership and a hardworking population leveraged post-War assistance , education , technology , innovation , sweat and focus to develop a World Class Economy that is still the envy of many

  • Automotive
  • Aviation
  • Defence
  • Marine and shipbuilding
  • Construction
  • Electronics
  • Educational , Research and Development
  • Processing
  • Agricultural
  • Governance

In 1960 , Kenya , Mauritius , Malaysia , Singapore and South Korea had similar GDP’s …!!

Today , … it is No Contest…!!

End of the Lesson for today …!!:joy::rofl::hotsprings:

There seem to be a huge void in what knowledge you should have acquired in school

While whites were skin-wearing , cave dwelling , nomadic hunter gatherers living in caves

In Africa we were

  • building Pyramids and Irrigating crops along the Nile
  • we were engaged in commerce and valuable mineral extraction in the Sahel
  • and we had world class Militaries and Empires in Southern Africa**.

Let’s leave it there:blush:

Kenya is a beneficiary of the cold war like the Japs, Koreans … Hii ni common sense.

The countries like China, Japan and most Asian countries already had the ‘know how’ to make stuff. So kujicompare ni upuss.

Today however, to be ignorant is a personal mission. Panjeets and Pakis make their own shit. Hata terrorists wanatengeza silaha. Lakini nyinyi mnataka IMF iwafanyie kila kitu from education fee structure to financing a budget. Chinese wajengee nyinyi barabara for free. Upuus.

@ryzen

You have not been listening…!!
( …a common trait even among your current backward leadership and juveniles in here… )

No Race , Civilization , Society , Community or collective has a monopoly on knowledge , ideas , innovation or evolutionary fortune

Empires Rise and Fall over time
It is in their nature to do so

Any group of people can achieve results and greatness with a shared vision , goals and working towards a common purpose

Do less talking and posting and instead more reading , discovery and research:blush:

Where did those Pyramid builders disappear to?

That is why I keep saying that there must have occurred a cataclysmic event that wiped of civilizations in Africa and South America.

Is there an end to technological advances? Like what is the end goal? Will humans stop once robots are able to perform every task for us or when

The goal is to improve. Jana ulitumia landline, leo unatumia 5G , kesho unatumia next gen ultra speed internet.

Hata robots zikifika hatutaacha. It’s like counting 1 to infinity.

They have. The Persians, Chinese, Indians, Egyptians, hata modern day Arab Babylonians.

Kama huelewi the simple concept of continuity sijui nitakueleza aje. I haven’t said anyone has a monopoly on knowledge. That’s how superstition, art and science spread. Monkey see monkey do. That’s the Darwinian concept of evolution.

Anyway arguing with you is like arguing with ChatGPT. All facts but no context.
