Thanks for my past experience with all kind of conmen.
So I post some stuff on the damn olx all amounting to 140k. 3Hrs later a nigga calls me ati ni Engineer na amemove Nairobi juzi na familia so he’s interested. So I give him directions vile atanifikia is asorait am licensed skuizi. He asks me which mode of payment I would prefer nikamsho mbesha pap.He argues that mpesa will incure extra charges since haiwes tranfer pesa yote at once.
Nikakumbuka bank acc yangu ni ya peasant nikamsho weka yote basi kwa acc…
huyu maafaka akachora cheque na akadeposit kwa account yangu. as u know when u deposit a cheque the amount is reflected immediately but u have to wait for it to clear, meaning pesa bado haiko.
So this schupid asshole calls me later to confirm that my acc. has been credited and yes 140k deposited. he calls me again jioni ati his driver has had an accident and he seriously need like 50k I shud send him via mpesa when he comes to collect the items he will come with the 50k.
Hapo ndio nikajua iko kamcheso.nikaangalia mini statement (i wanted to check kama aliweka cash ama tranfer)nikaona kumanina imeweka cheque na haijaclear so he wants me to send him 50k from my actual balance alafu cheque itabounce coz obviously hana kakitu …fuk u fuker I invented that trick.
So that’s how watu huingia box unapatiana mali unaambia pesa imeingia ukiangalia balance unaona yes iko lkn hujui kama mjinga ameweka cheque of which itabounce later na ubaki matako bwata bwata.
2017 na bado as a human race we still don’t have a workaround against bouncing cheques.
Maybe pesalink will offer some much needed solution once it’s streamlined.
Karibu uchezwe nowadays people own cheque books with zero amounts in those accounts.I think the best way is to insist afanye direct funds transfer via mobile banking coz every mobile bank has an option for direct funds transfer
