Ediot is a personal friend of mine, that fateful night we were together in his club ‘Latitude’ at the Buru Buru shopping complex. It is a lazy Friday afternoon lakini let me dive right in. In a ruling on whether on has a case to answer the accused is still innocent until proven guilty only that he has been put to his defence. So bado ako na right to bail/bond terms. In the case of Mr. Idiot he has been found guilty so most definitely his right to the bail/bond has ‘expired’ so ni kurushwa ndani tu angoje sentencing.

1. I think there is something fundamentally wrong with your statement. Are you trying to say that the next stage in a criminal trial [where the court has determined that the accused person has a case to answer] is sentencing?

2. Isn’t bond only cancelled when it is determined that a person is guilty - assuming the person has not done anything to cause it to be cancelled?

After case to answer is defence hearing. Bond is not cancelled at this stage but will be cancelled after going through defence hearing and judgment by the court that accused is guilty. Sentencing follows judgment/P.O report/mitigation.
