THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

As a young child I was admitted in hospital with tonsilitis in Mater Hospital. A nun was taking care of me as a nurse. She had the most beautiful aura. I lost my voice after the tonsilectomy. She would come in and take the trouble to read my non verbal cues. Her face glowed. Every time she came to the room, the atmosphere felt peaceful and very comforting. I remember there after I said to myself that when I grew up Id become a nun.

There was something I felt around nuns that I didnt around Fathers or Friars. In high school CRE was taught by a Polish nun. She was so angelic, her habit was always perfect, she walked like she was gliding. She never raised her voice. She looked so so innocent and pure.

The current pope symbolises the character and humility of Christ. I practiced Catholicism for 4 years for every week day in high school. Although my grandparents were devout Catholics, I felt that it wasnt for me bcz their rituals and rites went against some teachings of the Bible. Such as reciting prayers and religious regalia ,confedsion, the papacy, not reading the Bible for themselves and making images of God. Among others. Although I listen to Mother Agelica and a Bible commentary by a priest called Hahn. Would my Catholic frens help me understand this discrepancies

I canā€™t relate.
Follower of Church of England.

give an example of an image of God you are claiming.

again what were you trying to pass across?? at first I thought unasema a nice hekaya of your childhood

Georgina, did you get your voice back?

@Georgina, what discrepancies?
1.confession: this was directly authorized by Jesus. He said to the disciples, "Whomever sins you forgiveā€¦read your Biblia.
2.Papacy: Peter was the rock, unto whom the church was left in care.He was given the keys.Peter was the first Pope
3.Images: what images. You carry a pic of your reach husband_or kid, does that mean you worship him? No! We Catholics donā€™t worship images, its just our symbolism for loving Him n Mary, who brought forth Christ.

Donge?

The church of Englandā€™s history;: rebellion

Why do you have to ask Mary and dead ā€œsaintsā€ to pray for you? They are dead and gone. Jesus is already interceding for you why you gotta bring dead people into the mix? Where in the Bible does it say to pray to dead people?

And lets not forget the thousands of children around the world molested by priests who are protected by the Catholic church. You are supposed to lead by example and if you canā€™t protect the little children then you have no business teaching me the word of God.

The 4th-century Apostlesā€™ Creed states belief in the communion of saints, which certain Christian churches interpret as supporting the intercession of saints. As in Christianity, this practice is controversial in Judaism and Islam

Advocates of the doctrine say that Jesusā€™ parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19ā€“31 indicates the ability of the dead to pray for the living.[citation needed] On the basis of Christā€™s intercession for believers, who is present at the Right hand of God(Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25), it is argued by extension that other people who have died but are alive in Christ may be able to intercede on behalf of the petitioner (John 11:25; Romans 8:38ā€“39)

No one is defending molesters.
They are gonna b judged by the Almighty, who is the Supreme.

No one is teaching you.I donā€™t say am righteous either.n I ainā€™t defending a religion, am just stating facts due to your ignorance

Baby Jesus.

Is this a rhetoric question?

No, itā€™s not

Letā€™s start here
Mathew 23

But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. 6 They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,7 greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ā€˜Rabbi, Rabbi.ā€™ 8 But you, do not be called ā€˜Rabbiā€™; for One is your Teacher, the Christ,[b] and you are all brethren. 9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. 11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
