Yes. The book was written in the 2000s, and the tech retrofitted to the original Bourne books that were written by Ludlum himself (1960s setting). I don’t mind retrofitted technology so long as it’s believable..
But I’m not buying this. There were no firewalls or even the internet as we know it in the 1970s. The only hacking that existed then was calling an old spectacled woman at a switchboard and confusing her with fake phonebook addresses (e.g. yellow pages).
