Robin van Persie has been recognised for scoring the best goal of the Premier League era at the Legends of Football ceremony after jetting into London for the event. This year’s dinner, held on Wednesday night, celebrated 25 seasons of Premier League football with the room filled with legendary figures including Ryan Giggs, Michael Owen and Alan Shearer. They and other players to reach the 100 goal mark voted for the best goal gong which saw former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Van Persie emerge victorious.

Personally I disagree with that decision. RvP had many spectacular goals and my favorite is the one he scored against Everton in 2011

There are other players who have scored far better goals than that one in the EPL era.

Such accolades are normally given depending on the stage it was scored.
The one against villa & everton are fairly similar while the one against charlton arguably better.
However, the one vs villa was in a TITLE WINNING game at OT…and he also stole the headlines with a hatrick. Hizo zingine never stood a chance
