Na watch this NTV wild thing and some figures are shocking, apparently Kenya now has 137 tonnes of seized ivory. Wanasema the heavy tusks can weigh upto 22kg. If we assume an average weight of 13kg per tusk coz. naona kuna zingine za tutoto and do the maths thats very many dead elephants.
137 * 1000 / (2 * 13) = 5,269.
Assuming only 25% of ivory is seized, it means we have lost over 20k elephants, I didn’t even know we had this many elephants in the first place

I am also shocked. Nimegoogle kidogo turns out we have over 20k elephants. What is more shocking is that Mugabe has 5 times that number and Botswana has over 200k elephants :eek:

It is just a matter of time befre we lose all the elephants. The only surviving ones will be in sanctuaries. Rhinos are actually in their death bed. They’re are very few and their reproduction is so slow that they may not see the next few decades.
