3 days ago, the President Teodoro Obiang’ Nguema has promoted his first son Teodoro ‘Teodorin’ Obiang’ Mangue as the country’s vice-president, the position of second vice president has been abolished, it’s not yet clear what happens to the position of the prime minister

He retired after constitution prevented him from running another term if they(parliament) had amended to enable him run again he could be sleeping elsewhere in exile.

Were it not for one Wilson Boinett, chief architect behind NSIS, Moi wouldn’t have retired. Boinett is the brain behind the renewed NSIS that became more functional and excellent at intelligence. Towards 2002, he told Moi to his face that should he try to force anything on anyone, even his own rule, Kenya would be plunged into darkness. Moi took the advice. He wasn’t known to follow advice earlier on.

True, proven way to keep the barking mongrel quiet is to throw it a bone, win win.

That’s what African leaders ought to learn from Moi, time to quit peacefully.
But my point was, Moi survived, despite all the resistance he faced from his day’s as VP.

Not sure how you call oppressing people using police and military advanced politics. Moi even had to kill people to survive. Remember Robert Ouko .
