Go to file manager on your phone and look for Telegram folder,open it,access each of the sub folders and Delete the content in them

Thanks Kimash, that SD card was clogged with tonnes of junk files. Guess I was overthinking.

Just clear your cache and it’ll get rid of all those hidden files

I had cleared the cache a thousand times with no difference. Kimakia’s suggestion is what has worked.

Yea also go to telegram settings turn off all media for automatic downloads when using mobile data also turnoff autoplay gifs
