Leyland Clydesdale bus somewhere between Thika and Muranga traveling in 1975.The bus belonged to Jogoo Kimakia Bus Service.If you look at the side you can just about make out a white cockerel which would make it part of a fleet operated by Jogoo who purchased so many Leyland bus chassis that he was invited to Britain for a tour by British Leyland

War Memorials opposite Standard Bank of South Africa - Delamere Avenue - Nairobi - 1940s

The inscription, in English, Swahili and Arabic, was written by Rudyard Kipling and says
“This is to the memory of the Arab and Native African troops who fought: to the Carriers who were the feet and hands of the army: and to all other men who served and died for their king and country in eastern Africa in the Great War 1914-1918
If you fight for your country, even if you die your sons will remember your name”.

The three figures depict members of the Carrier Corps, the KAR and (I think) the Arab Rifles
