kenya wasn’t always rich (in relative terms), and the citizens had much less money to spend on clothes, other stuff. you know, i always smile to myself when i find ninjas here complaining how economy ni mbaya yet kufika 3.00 pm friday wameanza ku-post picha za vile weekend yao imeanza mapema…there is much more disposable income…

it was coz that was the “sunday best” trousers and ninjas often outgrew them…there wasn’t enough cash to buy threads as often as there is now…
