Airtel Kenya has today unveiled a new and exciting tariff that offers its prepaid customers calls for Sh2 (2bob) a minute across all networks.
This new tariff with a 50 per cent saving from current on-net and off-net calls allows Airtel customers to enjoy making calls for a longer duration.
The tariff is set to give Kenyans from all cadres of life, access to affordable communication services and ensure that they are well connected with their families and friends.
For all new Airtel customers, the Sh2 offering will be a default tariff.

Existing customers will simply have to dial 5442# and opt into the service without any conditions and subscriptions.
Airtel Kenya CEO Prasanta Das Sarma noted that the 2bob rate to all networks is part of the company’s continuous rollout of innovative propositions for Kenyans.
"It’s a simple to understand and worry-free tariff. We are delighted to be making history by introducing this new unique tariff that gives double the value to the customers as now they can talk twice as much while experiencing unmatched high quality on our network” he said.

Bob Conmemore once said Safaricom weighed it’s options and refused to go that route.

Safaricom are sitting pretty coz. the other telcos are not investing in infrastructure. But on the internet bundles market for guys in major towns they are sharing the spoils

Airtel inaendelea kupotea. meaningful customers are not looking for free or cheap stuff.

Mimi hata ifike sumuni sigwes guza coz they have poor services.
I was once their loyal customer but ile loss walinipeleka siwezi rudi.
Just imagine I was mteja even though kwa phone showed network full.

On Sunday I switched on an Airtel line I barely used and after an hour of bombarding me with silly promotional calls and smses sent one text that I had been credited with 65mbs free data and 100 free minutes on all Airtel to Airtel calls.
I used up the data and am using the free minutes whenever possible.
Now, how do they gain from that or it’s to keep their systems busy?

Going to get me another phone so that I can get samma dis, apparently you can’t stay without safcom unless you are in high school…

Their combination of voice+data is what made me show safcon the middle figure…1000bob per month en am able to run business smoothly, 3yrs bila regrets.

I tried using an Airtel line in a supposedly 4G zone and could barely get a stable 2G.
Most of us are ready to relegate Safaricom only to essentials like mpesa, but the competitors have refused to have us.

If they just improve a bit on the quality and infrastructure , they’ll have a good market share. They just have to realise that the consumer requires an option from suffercom, and that option needs to come with reliability.

Is it sustainable? I remember YU literally throwing themselves at us and see how that worked out for them

Their internet not stable ,their money transfer, I really don’t know whether it works. They have alot to improve

airtel wameimbiwa mda mrefu wa invest in infrastructure hawataki remember recently when there was blackout ya safcon internet?

I will switch to Airtel for voice calls only.

Safaricom ni gutee. The only guys who benefit ni post paid clients.
