While receiving annual Controller and Auditor General (CAG) and the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) reports today:

  1. Fires the Director General of the Tanzania Port Authority (TPA), Deusdedit Kakoko, and ordered an investigation. The President’s decision came in response to the CAG’s report which shows a loss of TZS 3.6 billion (about $1.5 million) by TPA. = Tough on corruption (Kagame once said if he had Dar es Salaam Port alone he would feed all Eats African Countries)

  2. Called for the harmonization of existing government payment systems for effective government accounting. She insisted that with the current situation where there are more than six systems within the government it is hard to account for government revenues. As a consequence, there has been a room for mismanaging public funds. = Wants to accountability and control of public funds just like her predecessor

  3. Warns the Minister of State from the President’s Office responsible for the Regional Administration and Local Government, Selemani Jafo over flaws in the ministry. President Samia said the ministry is taking money from the central government and collects money from the local government but there is no accountability in its expenditure. She expressly told the minister to promptly act on the raised concerns before the government intervenes. = This is the most powerful ministry in TZ and looks like the minister is not safe

  4. Ordered the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) to audit all funds disbursed by the government for the implementation of development projects in the period of January to March 2021. = Going after the deep state. In the last 90 days Apparently deep state are involved in taking almost $200 million from Central Bank.
