In Kenya we enjoy democracy because everytime we approach election time we align ourself with tribes. At the end of the day the best tribal alignment wins the day. Also tribal politics keeps politicians on check. If a president is elected, he is forced to serve the tribes, not individual people na akichemsha people just gang up against the said president until anafuata what he is supposed to do. At the end of the day every tribe if not all benefit.
In Tanzania, politics is based on political parties. Na since independence there has been only one ruling party CCM. This party is not representing the tribes (people) of Tanzania. It is representing the elite people who are CCM members. Utapata CCM is mainly a family issue, from father to son to grandson etc. The normal citizens are left behind.
Even today after the massacre, hakuna tribe imejitokeza kusema kabila letu limeuliwa. I am only hearing them whispering and blaming Islam and Zanzibar which is a stupid approach. Very sad. As we speak Tanzanians do not know what do next. If this massacre had happened in Kenya leo wakalenjin na wajaluo wangelala kwa misitu. In TZ they do not know where to retaliate.
