It’s true that Maghufuli’s policies are working great for Tanzania. And they are positively heading to greatness economically. But I don’t like how the East African is overzealously pampering Tanzania. It’s as if wanalipwa kuisifu Tanzania!
No one is in competition with Tanzania, let them develop. Kenya could actually benefit more from a wealthy than poor Tanzania.
If I was Tanzanian, I would support what Maghufuli is doing.
For a very long time, Africa has been the continent where multinationals harvest raw materials for a song, repackage the same and resell at exorbitant prices. A good case study is Zambia. Although the country is the 9th producer of copper in the world, 64% of the population lives on less than $ 1 per day, 40% of the people don’t have access to clean water, and close to 90% of women in rural areas don’t know how to read and write!
The plan has faced so many challenges because of investors. They may or may not succeed, but I just wish them well.
