Makonda emphasized that the projects align with the CCM Manifesto and are part of the 6th Phase Government’s commitment under President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

He noted that funds for the market were allocated in 2021 from central government, not local council:
“I told city leaders—this market must be built this year. Today we deliver on that promise so citizens can soon benefit.”
