CCM’s Secretary for Ideology, Publicity and Training, CPA Amos Makalla, has announced that a total of 5,475 party members have taken nomination forms for Parliamentary and House of Representatives positions ahead of the 2025 General Elections.
In a press briefing held in Dar es Salaam on July 3, 2025, Makalla revealed:
- 4,109 members picked forms for Constituency MP positions:
- 3,585 from Mainland Tanzania
- 524 from Zanzibar
503 members picked forms for Zanzibar House of Representatives.
Women’s Wing (UWT):
- 623 members picked forms (91 from special groups)
- 8 from Zanzibar for direct representation
- 9 for special seats (Zanzibar)
Total UWT applicants: 640
Youth Wing (UVCCM):
- 154 from Mainland
- 7 from Zanzibar
Total: 161
Parents’ Wing (Wazazi):
- 55 from Mainland
- 7 from Zanzibar (3 for MP, 4 for Representatives)
Total: 62
GRAND TOTAL for MP & Representative Positions: 5,475
Meanwhile, CCM is still processing forms for councilor candidates in 3,960 wards, with projections showing over 15,000 candidates — bringing the total to over 20,000 aspirants, the highest turnout in CCM history.
