Barred or excluded opposition figures/ other groups
-Tundu Lissu (Chadema): The leader of the main opposition party was arrested, detained & subsequently disqualified from participating in the election. He was officially acquitted of all charges on 24th October 2025 and set free but opted to stay in prison till 29th October the date of the general election.
-Luhaga Mpina (ACT-Wazalendo): The leader of another Main opposition party who was disqualified for failure to comply with nomination procedures.
-CHADEMA party: The entire party was disqualified by the electoral commission for failing to sign a mandatory code of conduct by the April 2025 deadline.
