The park was crowded with families, some celebrating Easter. Many victims are said to be women and children.
Police told the BBC it appeared to be a suicide bomb. A Pakistan Taliban faction said it carried out the attack.
Pakistan’s president has condemned the blast and the regional government has announced three days of mourning.
All the major hospitals in the area were put on an emergency footing after the blast early on Sunday evening.
The explosion appears to have been at the main gate to the Gulshan-e-Iqbal park in an area where cars are usually left - and a short distance from the children’s swings.
One eyewitness said there was chaos, with a stampede starting and children separated from their parents in the rush to escape. (BBC)

Families celebrating Easter, which means these were Christian families murdered by Muslims. Not a single day passes without a Mohammedan somewhere unleashing terror on innocents. Islam has relentlessly brutalised civilizations for 1400 years and counting. When does it stop? Never will. It’s a cult that celebrates death and is only satisfied when innocent blood is spilt. Religion of demons whose founder can only be the evil one.
These terrorist attacks have everything to do with Islam and Mohammed. To really understand Islam, you have to dissect its leader and put him on display. Mohammed is considered the perfect human being (al-Insan al-Kamil) that all Muslims should aspire to. Whatever works he did, his followers must do. So what works did he do? Mohammed was a violent mass murderer, rapist, savage robber…all his escapades are well recorded so we know exactly the kind of person he was.
There’s no such distinction between radical Islamic terrorists and moderate Islamists. All of Islam is radical. A real Muslim is a terrorist, period.

What do you know about Christian-like behavior? Don’t you know Jesus whipped those who were buying and selling in the temple? (John 2:5). Was that un-Christian of Him? The mark of a Christian is the indwelling Holyspirit in him. The mark of a Muslim is one who follows Mohammed in every deed. A real Muslim is like the sword of Allah, bringing Sharia Law to mankind through jihad. Convert or die. Is that radical Islam or mainstream Islam?
“State of war”…huh! Is that the caveat? Mohammed personally beheaded thousands of Jews and Christians, took them as slaves, raped countless women including a minor who couldn’t give consent, robbed merchants in their caravans. You consider such a man to be holy?
The problem with today’s world is that so many are willing to compromise. Europe compromised to appease the Muslims at the expense of the Jews, see what they got? But there’s a seed of Christ, sheep that hear the Shepherd’s voice that will not compromise the truth: Jesus Christ is the ONLY way, the ONLY Truth and path to eternal Life. (John 14:6) Those Pakistani Christians are martyrs for Christ, who were persecuted and killed for His sake. Rev 20:4. May God rest their souls.
