It was built in the Kibaki era while buildings adjacent were being demolished to give way for eastern bypass

Nothing to do with colour. Taj Mall lacks important amenities that make shoppers’ experiences worthwhile.
Taj is a dead mall because it is devoid of tenants juu sorry to say, watu wa embakasi hawana kakitu. People just cruise the mall for selfies na wanatoka! Malls perform best where people have purchasing power. Ata kuna ngombe ingine imefungua mall karibu na Kayole called Shujaa mall. Hiyo unless aeke reggea concert hapo, it will never see people!

Shujaa mall also faces a lot of compe from Greenspan and to compound matters, there’s another mall being constructed hapo Komarock.

Hizi malls will finish the Local shopkeeper nakuambia! They willl be reduced to selling maziwa, mkate and the occassional Trust ukiangukiwa ka dryfry kwa esto. But i tend to think they are a bubble waiting to burst the way apartments did. Now every rich bloke is building a mall, soon enough there will be way way more mall space than tenants.
