SWVL was the best medicine for Kenyan matatu madness

But bonobos did what they do best they formed cartels to l push them out.nilikuwa natumia swvl kuenda kutoka sides za kwangu kuenda biashara ngong road manze it was seamless…hakuna story ya kutumia mat mbili ndio nifike ngong road…nikipand swvl stage ya home area nyweee Hadi ngong road…wakaanza kushikwa na kanjo karao wa Nairobi area nao Waka fwata…those days walikuwa na 14 seaters zenye wakenya tunaitanga box…walikuwa na clients kuruka na ju haku kuwa na loopholes za karao kupewa chwani na mat za swvl walichezewa kabaya…swvl was the ish…but bonobos being bonobos Ili bidii turudie story ya ku connect mats:cool:

It’s sad that’s it’s gone.
Really wanted to use it when not using the car or where bolt is unreasonably expensive (traffic prone areas).
They promised they will be back so that’s a good thing.

What is not clear from your post is whether it did not work because of corrupt kenyans, or because of the recession caused by the Biden US govt policies.

I remember the likes of Uber had a hard time at the beginning from the kenya taxi cartels, but managed to overcome it.

Why did they back out of business when they were already picking up?

Swvl is gone? How come I still get their smses. I got another one just last week.

Ofisi zao ziko ama zilikuwa wapi?

I actually do get their messages on a daily basis

Cartels. NTSA malaya za watu started harassing them with unnecessary licenses. A matatu cartel akiona unamtoka biashara ataabza kucheza chafu but naskia walirudi.

They are still operational but not as vibrant kama kitambo

SWVL is still there but not at the level walikuwa wame launch nayo…kama ulitumia ikianza you would have noticed walikuwa na route mob sana…alafu iyo time walikuwa na mat mob za fourteen seaters siku izi hawana ata Moja they have this coaster type buses…SWVL ilimalizwa na matatu cartel wakitumia traffic police Kuna time Nairobi area walikuwa wanashika SWVL mats Hadi Zina parkiwa nje…but the Egyptian owner is loaded mbaya alijaribu kulipia madere fine aka choka alafu courts venye ziliona Ako na pesa Waka increase fines he was spending millions on just fines…I followed up on this SWVL story coz it was a solution to the matatu madness and a game changer…my probox those days haikuwa inafika tao and also most of my neibas and colleagues walikuwa wamekubali kuwacha magari home watumie SWVL

Sad man, we’re our own worst enemies

Vile @Ndindu husema bonobos will forever be bonobos. Ukijaribu kusaidia mkenya, watu wako kwa serikali wakitumia akili za matope wanaturudisha nyuma. SWVL was a good idea to decongest town.

Sad man…SWVL was a game changer

public transport is a hotbed of dangerous thugs and cartels , its understandable they couldnt handle the heat

Sad

matatu ndio watu wa kufanya money laundery wako huko ndani banae

That’s what i am also wondering. They had finally penetrated, only to quit…

Super Pumped captured this well.
