Qassem didn’t work with Bush , if you work in foreign service then you would know that Qassem was simply saving his own ass!
All Qassem did was send his people to meet the Americans in a series of meetings in Geneva in the months after 9/11.
The meetings took place immediately after 9/11 and naturally Qassem was very nervous because he feared he would be a U.S target.
The Americans knew that he had worked with bin Laden in the U.S bombings of 98. Being a practical terrorist, Qassem knew that this was the time to pretend to be nice to the Americans. He organized secret meetings where he could share info discreetly concerning Taliban and Saddam.
Also Qassem didn’t mind if the Americans overthrew Saddam, that would be perfect as far as Iran was concerned.
