The only real problem with subaru boxer is how people are unfamiliar with it. It is also said they are unable to produce power as much as equivalent straight or V designs.
subaru is a novelty car for enthusiasts. its maintenance costs are slightly above similar size BMWs. But i agree the boxer has inherent design flaws that are difficult to deal with.
