How long does it take to run down the stairs ? I would rather take my chances than jump off from the fifth floor into the hard concrete

Are there empirical statistics in support of security drills? My biggest fear is that they can lead to laxity.

One student died and a pregnant woman miscarried during the security drill.
Security drill my foot. The students were as terrorised like it was the real terrorists.
