Manzee! Early this year I went back to Buruu after like 15 years, and my heart just broke. Kumechapa niaje!
I remember in the early 90s visiting schoolmates and family friends in Buruu. We just felt like it was another world where we didnât belong. Even the air we breathed in Buruu tasted different.
The young folks there were listening to Mariah Carey, Boys II Men, Warren G, Naughty by Nature, etc.
Saa hiyo sisi tumetoka kwa Pepe Kalle, Aurlus Mabele na Alaine Kounkou.

Novelty also matters. In 2010 I visited a very nice gated estate in Kyuna that felt like majuu. I had never seen such opulence in my life. I visited that estate again this year and I was not as impressed simply because I have seen much better. The first time blows your mind and then later it becomes a norm. The estate is still very posh, make no mistake. But after living in the city for 15 years, you just get accustomed to seeing nice things and the novelty wears off. Just like I was impressed by Sarit Center and Village Market back in the day and now I see them as cookie cutter malls.

Personally I think this is good. If the same places that were hot 20 years ago are the same ones that are hot today there is no progress in that society.

Correction: donât spend all your money on rent. Hio 45 ni mingi. spend 20k save 25k. By end of year youâll have 300k. In 3 yrs youâll have 900k, enough for a plot

I visited Unity homes in 2022 the place is well planned. The main problem is a good number of the buyers are using them for âinvestmentâ purposes not as their primary home so by default they are not going to take good care of them as they might pass them to other buyers/âinvestorsâ in the future.Alafu they are too close to the industrial zone.
On the other hand,Tatu industrial section is something else and will bring back Ruiru to itâs industrial heydays.
