Specialized Hardware Biz

Kwa ma millionaire hapa. Please advice.

A friend of mine has been in the locks business for 5 years now and trust me I have watched that guy grow from a ka shop in downtown to a multi million empire in uptown

Nilichoka kusikilia huyu jamaa wivu so I booked an appointment with him over the weekend. The jamaa alinichanua that he has a container landing on the first of November and he would like to support me get some money. Aliniambia once the container imefika Nairobi, He will call me nikague mzigo na aniuzie at a very discounted price. So nitafute duka na capital ya kitu 500K.

Is there anyone in such a biz hapa?

Bottomline: TO HIM, YOU ARE JUST A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER, NOT A FRIEND IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ADVICE.

Bahati ya mwenzio usiifanye nini?

Usiilalie mlango wazi…

I have seen that in business, it is always advisable to start small and learn the tricks of the trade as you grow big.

Utanunua locks, ikae nazo miaka mbili kwa duka unauza moja every month… In short vile umeambiwa hapo juu…

I wouldn’t trust mtu ananipea business advice after kuniuzia mzigo ya 500k. The business may, or may not be a good deal. So I would advise you to do thorough research, uconfirm bei ya hizo locks in the free market, see how much discount you are actually getting and check if you can resell those locks at a lower price than most retailers. Do more research first before committing to make sure that you have a price advantage over other retailers on the exact locks. E.g kama lock moja ni 1k kwa most hardwares, na wewe unafanya hesabu unaona hata ukiuza 800 per lock bado utamake pesa mzuri, go for the deal and start small. Bottomline, do more research to see whether you are getting a real bargain or not, then start small.

By small ni kama ngapi hivi

Small ni relative. 500k for a first time venture inaweza kuwa peanuts kwako but kwangu ni mob. Personally ningerisk 100k ama ikienda sana 150k. Zikienda nipate confidence ya kuwekelea 500k.

One lock in the market goes for 1500. The guy is selling the lock for 1000 wholesale price. A box has 24 locks so with 100k I wount have variety. Plus other products that goes with it. Hope you understand my argument.

At 150k, that’s 6 boxes na ubaki na pesa. You use 144k for six boxes. I would approach watu kadhaa wa hardware uwaulize kama wanaweza nunua na 1200 per lock. If yes, uko kwa biz. You won’t even need a shop. Chunguza kwanza kama unaweza distribute kwa hardwares. Ndio ununue ukijua poa kwenye unazipeleka.

Run my brother. Hii ni Nairobi. Ukiona mtu akiuza mayai na anajenga nyumba usiende kuuza mayai pia. Utajaribu na hutaweza. Stick to your line of biz and brainstorm how best you can improve what you understand and have experience in.

You don’t get into entrepreneurship by wanting to outdo your buddy or envying his exploits. You don’t even have a market., i am sure beyond seeing a lock you cant tell its functionality. You hardly know the basics of that venture. You assume people would want locks

Hiyo 500k heri ushike una chap chap ushinde nayo mchana mzima usiku kucha. Hizo locks kama hauna ready market, utaweka shop na kazi itakuwa kukuna makende all day hadi upate kipara kama ile ya makanika mrefi, only difference being the location of it.

ION @M2Random is right. The guy may have notes or heard of your jealous ways and to him it’s pay back time.
