So apparently a friend was watching a movie on some dell inspiron laptop. At some point, she reported that the sound system just went silent all of a sudden.
Was called to the rescue but found no issue whatsoever.

i had the same exact problem on a dell inspiron n5040 the speakers ndio zilikataa kwanza so nikaanza kutumia port ya earphones then after a few months the port also stopped functioning…
it is a hardware problem on some dell laptops the only way out ni motherboard mpya
Is it on a comp? If yes, try updating your flash player. Kama ni phone hapo ni memory kidogo.
