Salma Mbuvi, Sonko’s second-born daughter, is known for her fierce but low-key personality contrary to her elder sister, Saumu Mbuvi who exudes a more extrovert persona.
Many people may confuse her state of serenity with a shy nature, however, this is not the case. One time in 2016, she caused a social media buzz after posing with a pistol in hand with a caption ‘Thug life’ depicting the brash and aggressive lifestyle associated with the late Tupac Amaru Shakur (2pac).
The post emerged after Sonko’s daughter had a run-in with a local artist, whom Salma warned to keep off her uncle. The post seemingly took aback the majority of users who were quick to point out how she defended her family in a rather unconventional style.
"I hate exposing (sic) but this one I just had to. I couldn’t hold it in anymore…when it comes to my family I’ll stand with them till the end and I don’t like it when people mess around with my blood… If you know what is good for you, you would do the right thing before things go bad for you. I am one person who is not afraid of anything or anyone and I speak out what I feel and what I think is right (sic),” she posted on her socials.
Further, she has defended her father on numerous occasions - hailing him as one of the kindest, purest, and most gentle people she knows.
“People will do anything to make themselves feel better, even if it means destroying you. Your sensitive nature will catch onto the cruelty of this world, but remind yourself that them throwing dirt at you doesn’t say anything about you, but it says a whole lot about them. Take a deep breath and smile,” she once posted on social media.
Salma however, lives a funfilled lifestyle that most people are not aware of. A spot check on her social media channels, reveals that she has developed her own exciting lifestyle outside the family’s fame and publicity.
Not one to follow in her father’s footsteps, Salma has distanced herself from the political scene, unlike her siblings who often accompany their father on political tours. She is also into travelling as she has been to many places around the world.
